July 2017 DegustaBox
July's Degustabox was hinted to have lots of picnic type snacks in it to celebrate July being a huge month for outdoor picnics. I was really excited about this. Last month they did a little theme where they included a lot of Italian foods. This month was a picnic theme. It was quite perfect, because we love to picnic!
Look at all these goodies! My family has become obsessed with this subscription box. My kids and husband really like the snacks they send, and I enjoy trying new foods. I also like that they include a lot of gluten free things on a regular basis, too. They try to cater to allergies and different food intolerances.
We got these Wise popcorn snack bags in our very first box a year ago, and my husband loves taking them to work for lunch or morning snack. The Cinnabon popcorn is our favorite. It tastes just like a cinnamon roll and one bag is only 80 calories! Score!
I've received these RX Bars in sample boxes before. They are 100% whole foods. No additives or colorings. Literally what you see listed on the front is exactly what is in the bars. They are a pretty good size, too, so it was nice to see a coupon for a free RX Bar in this month's box. they are available at a variety of stores and online, so I will be looking for the closest store that sells them in my area.
I've followed Waffle Waffle on Facebook for quite some time now. I somehow stumbled upon this company, which makes flavored ready to eat waffles, but have never actually got to try their products until now. That's why I was so happy to see one in this month's box. They are the perfect size for a snack or quick breakfast, and you can eat them straight out of the packaging. No need to heat them up. We received the Buttery Vanilla, but they have quite a few other delicious flavors that we are looking forward to hunting down and trying.
Mmmmm Mrs Thinnsters...
I've tried the chocolate chip Mrs. Thinnsters before and was hooked, but you really haven't tasted deliciousness until you've had the brownie batter flavor. Oh man, it's like the crispy edge of a brownie, which obviously is the best part, right? I love that they can be crumbled on top of ice cream and baked goods. They are so good!
We received Kala Beans in another box, so this brand also was not new to us. However, we've never tried this particular flavor. I love spicy foods, but I'm not a fava bean person, so this particular item just was not for me. I passed it on to my cousin to try. Like I said, my family really loves when I get a new Degustabox in the mail because I share.
Did someone say chocolate chip cookies?! Oh yes! It's been way too hot to use my oven, so I have not had a chance to try these, yet, but I'm praying we get a cool day so I can! I love chocolate chip cookies. It's definitely one of my top 5. I also love brands with a cause, and each time you buy a King Arthur Flour product, they give a meal to those in need. That makes me want to continue purchasing their products. I also really like that these cookies aren't loaded with preservatives or artificial additives.
These two brands also were not new to us, however, since they are brands we use regularly, we were stoked to receive more products from them. I've been using EVOO a lot in my cooking lately because it's healthier and depending on the process the oil goes through and the olives used to make it, you can change up the flavors of any meals. We also use tomato sauce a lot. I mean A LOT. I prefer to make my own spaghetti sauce, but of course I also make chili frequently in our crock pot. I usually just buy plain tomato sauce, but this stuff by Mutti is really good! It has a nice blend of spices and flavors in it and is perfect for all my tomato sauce dishes.
I've actually worked with Vermont Smoke & Cure before, so I already knew of their products and we already love them. They actually just recently sent us a summer fun gift of a tote bag, beach towel, water bottle, beach ball, and a large selection of their mini sticks for us to take with us on our trip to the beach next week. They are a really great company, and their products are made with vegetarian fed beef, turkey, and pork. They are really good and great for lunch boxes and travel snacks.
My favorite item in this month's box was this Karma Wellness Water. I usually only drink water all day anyway, but this is a flavored water with a bit of a twist. The flavoring is stored in the cap of the water, so when you are ready to drink it, you can release the flavoring into the water and the vitamin will be "fresher" and more useful than if they had sat in the water already for who knows how long.
All you do is remove the tab on the top, push down the little button which will release the flavoring, and then shake and drink! I loved this so much! I am on a mission to find more of these to take with me on vacation. Even my husband liked it, and he usually hates flavored water, or water of any kind. My kids also were pretty interested in it as well. Meaning I may have finally found water that my family will drink and I can now cut back on their soda and juice consumption.
