August DegustaBox Unboxing

Last month was my first time trying out Degustabox and I was immediately hooked! They fill these boxes full of so much stuff and the products are top quality and mostly well known brands so you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck when you subscribe to this box.
Some items in these boxes you can find in your local store, others you may have a harder time finding unless you order them online (it depends on your local availability), but it gives you the opportunity to try products you have not tried yet or may not get a chance to because of availability. Sometimes you even get items that are brand new to the market and you can try them before you buy them. That's my favorite part, honestly. You would be surprised by how many products I buy regularly now because I had tried them through a sub box first.
This month's box (as is every month) was like opening a gift on Christmas. You know what it is, but you're excited none-the-less.
This month we received a small bag of Popchips in Cheddar & Sour Cream and these are one of my favorite brands of chips and also happen to be one of my favorite flavors! The chips aren't fried, they are air popped like popcorn, so there's no greasy after-mess when you eat them. The Cheddar & Sour Cream flavor is bold and flavorful.
My husband really liked the Vermont pepperoni and cracked pepper meat sticks. The uncured pepperoni was turkey meat, which he said he could tell by the texture that it was turkey (he's never had turkey as a substitute in meat sticks before), but it was very good. I highly enjoyed the cracked pepper. I expected them to have a little heat to them, but they didn't. The flavor was perfect and a great snack.
I used the Goya Maria Cookies as well as the Oregon Chia Tea Latte in an impromptu recipe for Fluffy Chia Latte Dessert, which you can find HERE. The cookies remind me of vanilla wafers a lot and the Chia Tea Latte reminds me so much of a fall flavor. It's delicious! I made a hot cup and added some french vanilla creamer to it for a little more creaminess, but you can also drink the Chai Tea Latte cold by pouring over ice, which is the next way I plan to try it.
The Alo Pulp Free drink was a bit odd to me at first. I don't know why, but I had never heard of drinking aloe and to be honest, I thought it was going to have a greasy feel to it. I was definitely wrong and surprisingly it's really, really good! I drank it ice cold during a workout and loved it. I've since found a few larger bottles in Pomegranate and Cranberry that I really enjoy as well. Even my kids liked the taste of this and there are a ton of health benefits to drinking aloe apparently so not only does it taste good, it's actually good for you!
I've had Honey Bunches of Oats before so this wasn't a new product for me, but I was really excited about getting a box in this month's shipment because I really do love this cereal, especially with strawberries in it! I've been having it as a late night snack.
Mmmmm chocolate. I'm hooked on these Loader Rose of the Dolomites chocolates! Mine came a little melted so I stuck them in the fridge for a bit before trying them. I had them with my morning coffee and the combination was perfect! These chocolates have a crunch to them, reminiscent of Krackle bars, in my opinion. I got two boxes with 4 chocolates in each box and they didn't last very long in our house. They were a huge hit.
Cow Tails are also a favorite of ours, so we were so happy to see a bag of mini cow tails in this month's box. Cow Tails are pretty popular, but if you've never had one before, they are caramel sticks filled with a vanilla cream in the center. They are the longer version of a caramel chew that I remember my mom always buying in bags when I was younger. I paired these with my salted caramel coffee in the morning. Perfect combination!
I have to say that my favorite thing in the entire box was this Sir Kensington's Mayonnaise in Chipotle flavor. Goodness was this good! I don't like regular mayo, but I will eat flavored mayo and I really love things that have some spice to them, like chipotle. This definitely has a nice flavor kick to it. I ate this on a breaded chicken sandwhich the other night for dinner and ever since, I have been using every excuse to use it. Like on our tacos for tonights dinner. I even dipped my garlic cheesestick into it last night during dinner. Now I need to go stock up on this!
The only thing in the box I haven't got around to trying yet, is the White Lily Wheat Flour. Hubby has been asking for homemade cinnamon rolls this week so I'll be trying the flour in my cinnamon roll recipe .
*Note: The Sweet Dreams spray was a bonus that went out in only a few boxes. If you didn't receive one in your box, don't worry, you weren't really missing out on much, in my opinion. I used it a few nights ago and it didn't work for me. It made me nauseous and didn't help me fall asleep at all.
