Family Scavenger Hunt

Family Scavenger Hunt by Outset Media is fun game designed to bring families together and is a guaranteed good time!

The game comes with a spinner and 4 sets of cards. There are two adult sets and two children's sets one for each outdoor and indoor. 

Both of the children's set have photos as well as the words. You'll notice on this set (which is the outdoor set) there are magnifying glasses on certain cards. Those mean "look but don't touch", where as the ones without can be brought back to home base if that's how you are keeping score. 

The kids indoor cards are exactly like the outdoor cards except there's no "look but don't touch" cards. 

These are the adult outdoor cards. Like the kids set, there are also "look but don't touch" cards. However instead of a magnifying glass, there is a camera which prompts you to take a photo of the object. Obviously you aren't going to pick a pothole up and bring it back to home base. If you wanted to, the children could take cameras with them for their "look" cards as well.

The adult indoor set are exactly like the outdoor, but once again, no camera cards. 

The game is designed for children ages 6 and up, however I think that if your child is able to match up a photo with a real object it should be fun for the younger set as well. With some assistance, I'm sure ages 3-5 could easily play along. 

Another great thing about this game is that it can be an educational tool as well. The children's cards, for example, can be used to teach sight words and reading. The child will associate the word on the card with the photo essentially making these reading flash cards. 

Think about the amount of fun this would be at cookouts and family get togethers.  Why not start a holiday tradition of playing a family scavenger hunt after Thanksgiving dinner or at a Christmas party? This game can easily be adapted to fit your family or gathering.
